Notice the guy in the red shirt. As a Muslim & a blogger, I have always seen pictures captured of a Muslim praying in the middle of no where and in a crowd somewhere. Honest to God I never thought I would see it in person, especially in NYC with the way Muslims are looked at.
As I was walking through Central Park with Delilah, I saw this guy instantly because of his red shirt and thought ‘um what is he doing in that area it’s fenced around’..it wasn’t until he went into sujood position that I realized what he was doing. Praying, in the midst of Central Park, with many many people all around strolling/biking/jogging along. This honestly made me day, to just simply see this.
I got another dose of this a few minutes later when I saw a sister praying on the grass. Amazing, mashAllah.
May Allah bless them, very very much & accept their prayers <3

middleeasternpoetry:

During Majnun’s time there were girls much more beautiful than Layla, but they were not loved by him. When told, “There are girls more beautiful than Layla. Let us show them to you,” he would always reply, “I do not love Layla for her external form. She is of external form; she is like a goblet which I hold and from I drink wine. I am in love with the wine I drink therefrom. You see only the goblet and are not aware of the wine. Or what use would a golden goblet be to me if it were filled with vinegar or something other than wine? For me a broken old gourd filled with wine would be better than a hundred such goblets. - Rumi
